Welcome to TravisSteelman.com, a site dedicated to giving the interested visitor an overview of the abilities of its creator. My favorite skill set is software development. I’m very experienced in developing in the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and .NET environments. I mostly create applications for the web, but I also have experience in writing stand alone Win 32 apps. I’m also a big proponent of using frameworks and IDE’s to improve and speedup the development process. For more detailed information on my software development experience, please see my programming section.
My second favorite skill is computer network administration. I find that networking and programming are symbiotic skill sets. It takes a basic understanding of networks to become a successful programmer. I have experience in both Linux and Windows based networks. More recently, I have been working with Linux based networks, as my current production environment runs on Linux. I also have experience in setting up and administrating many types of routers and switches, most notable the Cisco 501 Pix. For a closer look at my computer networking experience, please see my networking section.
The final part of this site gives a glimpse in to my personal life, and my many interests outside of work. Like mostly people, I do have a life that does not involve my career. I thank you for taking to time to visit TravisSteelman.com and hope you find me as interesting as I do.
Thanks,
Travis Steelman
